Changemappers is currently an independent, early-stage community platform operated by Incze Gaspar, an individual based in Hungary. Changemappers is not presently a company, foundation, association, or other incorporated organization. The operator takes responsibility for operating the service in good faith, but users should understand that the project does not have the legal, financial, security, support, or operational resources of a larger organization. For questions about these terms, contact [email protected].
These terms govern your use of https://changemappers.org/, related applications, community features, collaboration tools, and any other services provided as part of Changemappers.
Changemappers is a digital community platform for mapping initiatives, sharing knowledge, coordinating collaboration, and supporting systemic change. It is experimental and resource-constrained. The service is provided "as is" and may evolve, pause, degrade, lose features, or change as the platform develops.
You are responsible for the information you provide, the activity that happens through your account, and keeping your login credentials secure. Registration includes a matching activation profile because the service depends on accurate offers, needs, causes, roles, availability, and boundaries to produce useful recommendations. Please keep that information reasonably current and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access or misuse of your account.
You keep ownership of content you submit, upload, publish, or contribute. By submitting content, you confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to share it and that the submission does not violate another person's privacy, confidentiality, copyright, trademark, publicity, moral, or other rights.
Public knowledge contributions, including stories, patterns, canvas material, glossary or practice entries, project descriptions, comments intended for public display, and other content marked or reasonably understood as public commons content, are submitted under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International license (CC BY-SA 4.0). This means others may copy, redistribute, remix, transform, and build upon that public content, including for commercial purposes, if they follow the CC BY-SA 4.0 terms.
The CC BY-SA 4.0 conditions include giving appropriate attribution, linking to the license, indicating whether changes were made, distributing adaptations under the same license or a compatible license, and not applying additional legal terms or technological measures that restrict rights granted by the license. We may show attribution using your name, display name, username, organization, profile link, content link, or other attribution information available with the submission.
Because CC BY-SA 4.0 permissions are broad and cannot be revoked for people who already received the content under that license, submit public commons content only if you are comfortable with those reuse rights. Publish only information you do not consider sensitive and that you are prepared to have copied, stored, indexed, quoted, or reused by others. If your account is deleted or attribution must be reduced for privacy or safety reasons, we may anonymize or pseudonymize platform attribution while preserving the public commons record.
For non-public submissions, private messages, drafts, account information, and operational data, you grant Changemappers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, moderate, back up, and process that content only as needed to operate, secure, moderate, support, and improve the service, subject to your visibility settings and our Privacy Policy.
Do not use Changemappers for illegal activity, harassment, hate, threats, spam, deceptive behavior, unauthorized data collection, malware, security testing without permission, or attempts to disrupt the service. Respect other users' privacy, safety, and consent. In interactions on and around the platform, users are expected to uphold the Changemappers values of commons, connection, co-creation, inner development, regeneration, systems thinking, responsible scaling, openness, transparency, ethics, and practical impact, as described on the Changemappers values page.
We may review, restrict, label, remove, or preserve content when needed to enforce these terms, comply with law, protect users, or maintain platform integrity. We may also limit or suspend accounts that create risk or repeatedly violate community expectations.
You may stop using Changemappers or request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms, create security or safety risk, or use the service in a way that harms other users or the platform.
We make reasonable efforts to keep Changemappers useful, secure, and reliable, but no internet service can guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, permanent data preservation, or complete security. Security breaches, data loss, misconfiguration, unauthorized access, and human or technical mistakes can happen even to organizations with very large security budgets. Use good judgement and publish only information that you do not consider sensitive.
By using Changemappers, you give conscious and informed consent to these limitations. To the maximum extent permitted by Hungarian law and directly applicable European Union law, Changemappers and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, loss-of-profit, loss-of-data, security-incident, service-interruption, or user-generated-content-related damages.
Your use of the service is also covered by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.
These terms are governed by the laws of Hungary and directly applicable laws of the European Union. The agreed main court for disputes is the Budapest-Capital Regional Court (Fővárosi Törvényszék) in Budapest, Hungary.
We may update these terms as the platform changes. When changes are material, we will notify users by email, in-product notice, or a clear notice on the website. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the updated terms.
